"After I got back from work, I was panicked because my door that has been already drilled a few months ago got locked again. So, I googled locksmith, and called City Locksmith. Ray was the one who helped me out on the phone. I expected him to come down and charge me a couple hundred dollars, but instead he told me to take a picture of my door and gave a free advice in opening door. I did what he told me to do, and I was able to get into my apartment without in-person services that would cost me a lot. When he tried to remove the cylinder for the front door, however, we realized that it had practically been installed with a sledge hammer and was not only mis-installed but destroyed in the process. Ray went and got two new cylinders, which was more than the re-key but much much less than the cost of new mortise locks. While he was here he also made sure the rear door actually latched properly. Very fastidious about good work."

He asked me to send pictures of the locks which I did and he told me the best thing I could do given that it was a Schlage lock is to rekey it. We agreed on price He came out on time , rekeyed the locks and answered all my questions concerning lock and door. For example, I asked Ray why he did not spray the locks with DW 40. Rays answer was that he prefers to re-key so that it is metal on metal so that any imperfection will be felt & I tested both locks & there was none. WD 40 is a lubricant and is used a lot by Locksmith’s to smooth over a job that is not perfect and then the oil wears off & the lock may not work to perfection, only the locksmith is long gone. Additionally his price was extremely fair and he answered all my questions concerning Security. I highly recommend Ray the locksmith from City Locksmith for any security needs."
